Beaconsfield Tennis Club Policies

Who needs to abide by these policies?

The Beaconsfield Tennis Club policies apply to all individuals who interact with the club, including members, guests, spectators, staff, and officials. Every person on the club premises is expected to respect and adhere to the rules to ensure a safe, fair, and enjoyable environment for all. Players must follow guidelines related to conduct, sportsmanship, and equipment use, while spectators and visitors should comply with etiquette regarding behavior and facility use. Club staff and officials are responsible for upholding these policies, ensuring that the club operates smoothly and in alignment with its established standards. By abiding by these policies, everyone contributes to a welcoming and respectful tennis community.

Healthy Sports Club

At Beaconsfield Tennis Club, we’re committed to creating a positive, inclusive and healthy environment
both on and off the court. That’s why we’re proud to be part of Monash Health’s Healthy Sports Clubs
initiative – a program designed to support local sports clubs in promoting the health and wellbeing.

No Smoking/Vaping

The Beaconsfield Tennis Club is committed to ensuring a healthy environment for all members, players, spectators, and visitors by implementing a smoke and vape free policy. This policy complies with the Tobacco Act 1987 (VIC) and other legal obligations and aims to reduce exposure to second-hand smoke and vape emissions, while promoting positive role-modelling for juniors and a supportive environment for those trying to quit. The policy applies to all members, including administrators, officials, coaches, players, spectators, visitors, and volunteers at Beaconsfield Tennis Club, and is effective from 7th April 2025.

BODY TALK FREE ZONE

At Beaconsfield Tennis Club, we’re committed to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome, respected, and comfortable, on and off the court. As part of this commitment, our club is a Body Talk Free Zone.

For many people, comments about bodies, whether our own or someone else’s, can be uncomfortable, triggering, or discouraging. Even well-intentioned remarks about weight, shape, fitness levels, or appearance can affect someone’s confidence or sense of belonging. We know that avoiding body talk isn’t always easy; it’s a habit many of us have grown up with, and changing those patterns takes awareness and practice.

By choosing to keep our conversations free from body-related comments, we’re sending a clear message: Everyone is valued here for who they are, not how they look.

This approach helps us build a healthier, more inclusive club culture, one where members of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can enjoy tennis without pressure or judgement. It supports positive mental wellbeing, encourages participation, and strengthens the sense of community that makes our club special.

Thank you for helping us uphold this commitment and for contributing to a space where every person can feel safe, supported, and confident being themselves.

Healthy Food and Beverages

Beaconsfield Tennis Club is committed to creating a healthier food and beverage environment for all members. With support from Monash Health through the Healthy Sports Clubs initiative, we’ve introduced simple, practical changes that make nutritious choices easier and more visible. Their guidance has helped our volunteer‑run club review canteen options, promote healthier drinks, and build a culture that supports wellbeing for juniors, families, and social players. These improvements reflect our values on court—positive habits, active lifestyles, and a welcoming community. Together with Monash Health, we’re making healthy choices the easy choices at our club.
